Complementary feed for horses

When feeding easy-to-feed or overweight horses, it is even more important to make a clear distinction between the need for vital substances and energy. If there have already been disorders in the carbohydrate metabolism or if these are to be prevented, a special feed concept is required: without grain, but with many important vital substances!

• Cereal and molasses-free muesli
• Very low starch and sugar content
• Rich in low glycemic fiber, with herbs, seaweed, oils and oil fruits
• Special mineralization to stabilize the carbohydrate and fat metabolism
• Moderate copper content to improve the zinc-copper ratio

FOR A GRAIN-FREE DIET
Equigard is used to care for easily fed and overweight horses that have to be fed low in sugar and starch or have an increased risk of metabolic problems due to their constitution.

LESS STRENGTH - MORE HEALTH
Scientific studies show that if there are metabolic problems, non-structured carbohydrates such as corn starch and sugar should be reduced in the total feed ration. Equigard contains approx. 80% less starch and sugar than oats and is therefore ideally suited as a low-energy diet for endangered or already affected horses.

FEED THE METABOLISM
Vital substances such as magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, lecithin and antioxidants such as vitamin E and fruit flavonoids are of particular importance to stabilize the insulin function, the carbohydrate and fat metabolism.

Feeding recommendation:
To supplement an adapted basic diet consisting of roughage and/or grass. No additional mineral feed is required when feeding at least approx. 200 - 350 g per 100 kg body weight per day.
This total amount of feed should be divided into several meals.
If a lower dosage is used or in case of deficient supply, we recommend to additionally feed Glucogard or MicroVital.
In cases of increased energy requirements (of performance horses), combine with Struktur-E and vegetable oils.

1 liter corresponds to approx. 400 g Equigard muesli

Feeding advice:
Due to a higher vitamin and trace element content compared to complete feed, this complementary feed may only be fed to horses as up to 4 0 % of their daily rations (incl. hay). Please keep to the feeding recommendation.
