Biotin is a key vitamin for healthy hoof growth. Cracked, brittle or too soft hooves as well as insufficient hoof growth can be caused by a deficiency in biotin, a water-soluble vitamin from the group of B vitamins.
The B vitamins are normally produced in sufficient quantities in the horse's healthy colon. Unfortunately, a lack of raw fiber, a reduced quality of forage or an unbalanced diet lead to disturbances in the intestinal flora and thus to a reduced self-synthesis of biotin. In addition to delayed hoof growth and reduced horn quality, skin disorders, muscle tension, nervousness and poor performance can be further signs of a biotin deficiency. Biotin Hoof Mixture is a feed concentrate to promote the formation of healthy hoof horns. It combines biotin in an effective daily dose with vital substances for hoof stability such as organically bound zinc, brewer's yeast, fermented grain and sulfur-containing amino acids.
Use:
Offer approx. 1-3 g per 100 kg body weight and day with the concentrated feed. Note: If necessary, double the amount can be given temporarily. Not suitable for mineralization as required.
1 measuring spoon corresponds to approx. 15 g
Feeding advice:
This supplementary feed may only be fed to horses up to 4.1% of the daily ration (including hay) due to the higher content of vitamins and trace elements compared to complete feed.
Please adhere to the feeding recommendation.
