Glyx-Wiese Senior Faser can be used to enhance the roughage ration as well as for the feeding of horses with dental problems.
Thanks to the careful production process, Senior Faser is low in dust and contaminants. Because the fibres are chopped, it is easier for the horse to take in roughage while still producing the same amount of saliva – in this way, the total intake of roughage can be considerably increased. With Senior Faser, even horses that are no longer able to eat long fibres can be provided with an adequate supply of roughage. Senior Faser can be fed dry or soaked in water.
Palatin fibre, oil mixture (linseed & sunflower oil)
• as an alternative to roughage:
1.2-1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight per day
• to enhance the roughage:
adjust quantity to the amount of roughage fed
1 kg of Senior Faser replaces 1 kg of hay. Introduce gradually.
To cover the roughage requirements of horses with dental or chewing problems, feed 1.2-1.5 kg of Senior Faser per 100 kg body weight per day. This helps to prevent weight loss, particularly in the senior horse. Senior Faser is suitable as an alternative to roughage or to enhance hay or silage as well as to replace concentrates for horses who should only receive little or no grains. In warmblood horses, positive effects on digestion and nutritional status can be noticed from 2 kg per day.
For demand-oriented mineralisation, we recommend feeding 25-40 g per 100 kg body weight per day of SemperMin or combining Senior Faser with a compound feed suitable for the senior horse, e.g. Vitalmüsli Beste Jahre.
